Public Speaking
for students entering grades 6-12
Make your voice heard!
Learn how to thrive in front of a crowd, never having to shy away when you are called upon to speak in public. With debate, you will learn how to construct an argument and see a topic from different angles. With group discussion, you will learn how to converse effectively to analyze, synthesize and go in depth with a problem. Impromptu speaking will keep you on your toes, by teaching you how to come up with a coherent speech on the spot. Original Oratory will give you unique ideas, a structure and a purpose. Finally, Oral Interpretation of Literature and Duet Acting will give you the flair you need to charm your audience.
Public Speaking & Forensics will take you through a journey of discovery: we will explore the skills set of the 6 Forensics events, and you will experience the transformative process of coming up with original ideas, creating a speech and delivering it with voice and poise in front of an audience.
