Chemical Curiosities
for students entering grades 8-12
The science behind … magic!
Don’t miss this lab-based course where you will study, prepare, and conduct 16 spectacular experiments as seen in many chemical magic shows. Students will develop skills across a comprehensive range of experimental techniques and chemistry topics aligned with the Chemistry 10 and IB Chemistry requirements.
All labs will be conducted in the Academy Lab (room 103). Participants will learn how to safely handle equipment and chemicals, acquiring valuable experience and confidence for their future science courses. Each set of experiments will be designed and conducted by the students following the scientific method. At the end of the course, the students will present a 30-minute performance showcasing to the audience their acquired skills and knowledge.
When: Monday to Friday / Hours: 9:00-12:00 pm or 12:30-3:30 pm (to be announced) / June 17-28
Cost: 400 euros
Minimum enrollment: 5 students. Maximum enrollment: 15 students.
