On March 26, ACS Athens Middle School students participated in a special assembly dedicated to Down Syndrome Awareness, following World Down Syndrome Day on March 21.

The assembly was part of the school’s ongoing efforts to encourage empathy, understanding, and responsible citizenship among students.

ACS Athens welcomed guests from Iliachtida – The Center of Parents and Friends of People with Down Syndrome, who shared powerful insights about their mission and presented touching student performances that resonated with the audience.

In preparation for the assembly, students explored the topic of Down syndrome in their B.A.S.E. classes, learning about the genetic condition and embracing the importance of recognizing each person’s unique contributions to our community.

This event served as both an educational and inspirational experience, reinforcing ACS Athens’ mission to nurture globally aware, socially responsible individuals.
