ACS Athens Kindergarten students took center stage in a lively and heartwarming celebration of community helpers, blending music, storytelling, and creativity. As part of their social studies unit, the young performers honored the individuals who contribute to their community while also recognizing ACS Athens' 80 Years of Excellence.

The performance featured familiar songs, including "Wheels on the Bus" and the original "It's me, it's me, it's me who builds community." A highlight of the event was a playful adaptation of the Ghostbusters theme song—"Who you gonna call when your nose is bleeding? The nurses!"—which delighted the audience.

Students, dressed as teachers, nurses, librarians, and cleaners, delivered humorous and exaggerated lines, showcasing their understanding of the essential roles these individuals play. The seamless coordination of music, choreography, and storytelling reflected their enthusiasm and confidence, making for a memorable and engaging experience.

The production, brought to life through the dedication of Ms. Zoe, Ms. Alexia, Mr. Keith, Ms. Donna, Ms. Dionysia, Ms. Tonia, Mr. Stanford, Ms. Katerina, and Ms. Chrysannie, was a remarkable showcase of creativity, teamwork, and student engagement. The performance seamlessly integrated elements of school history, early learning goals, and artistic expression, creating a truly unforgettable experience for both students and their audience.

One of the highlights of the event was the joy and confidence radiating from the young performers. Their enthusiasm and sense of pride were evident as they took the stage, demonstrating not only their learning but also the supportive and nurturing environment that has been cultivated in their classrooms.

A special acknowledgement goes to Ms. Donna Maglara for composing the catchy and memorable lyrics and to Mr. Stanford and the homeroom teachers for incorporating diverse musical elements that enriched the performance. The integration of arts and crafts, curriculum goals, and language learning further emphasized the Kindergarten team’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning experience.

Through this thoughtfully designed and well-executed production, ACS Athens Kindergarten students are not only building a strong foundation for their academic journey but also learning the value of community, teamwork, and self-expression. This event set a high standard for early childhood exhibitions highlighting the importance of community helpers, but also reinforcing ACS Athens’ commitment to experiential and creative learning.
