Archontidou, Anneta, Permanent Substitute Teacher for Middle School and High School
Ms Archontidou is a dedicated and passionate substitute and PE teacher who has accumulated 32 years of experience in education. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Over the years she has worked with students of all ages, from Kindergarten to grade 12. She cannot pinpoint what level she prefers most because she loves teaching no matter the age, no matter the challenges!
At the start of her career, Ms. Archontidou was an ardent sports player who was in the handball team and a member of the National Team of Greece. She coached handball teams for many years, and succeeded in obtaining second place in the Panhellenic School Championships.
Ms. Archontidou went on to become Head of the Middle school PE department and coordinator at Doukas Summer Camp. At summertime, she was a dynamic leader in various summer camps throughout Athens. She also worked as a manager in athletic establishments for 3 years, but decided she belonged in the field of Education. Shortly after, Ms. Archontidou went on to teach English in a Greek-speaking private Kindergarten in Athens.
In 2018 Ms. Archontidou joined ACS Athens, first as an on-call teacher and later as an Elementary Permanent Substitute Teacher. In 2023 she uptook the post of Permanent Substitute Teacher for Middle school and High school, a position she loves as it gives her the opportunity to interact, connect and teach in different grades, with students of different ages.
Ms. Archontidou is married and a mother of two daughters, volunteers her time in Special Education Schools, the Smile of the Child, wherever there is a need! She is a lifelong learner, always seeking to uptake courses in the aim of accumulating knowledge. She speaks four languages and is a bookaholic. She considers herself lucky to be part of the ACS Athens community!
Her motto as a teacher is that every child deserves a good and caring teacher by their side!
