Stamati, Angeliki, Faculty, Mathematics, Math Assessment K-12 Coordinator

Dr. Stamati earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through the extended program in Applied Mathematics and Science Studies at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She then pursued a second Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics with a specialization in Mathematical Analysis. Driven by a profound passion for her field, Dr. Stamati completed her Ph.D. in Systems Theory at NTUA, supported by a full scholarship from the Papakyriakopoulos Foundation.

Her academic work has been published in numerous prestigious journals, including IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and Systems & Control Letters . During her doctoral studies, she taught at institutions such as the School of Applied Mathematics and Science Studies at NTUA, the University of West Attica, and the School of Engineering Officers of the Greek Army.

After earning her Ph.D., Dr. Stamati held positions as a Visiting Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens(NKUA) in the Department of Economics, a Scientific Associate at the University of West Attica, and an Instructor at the School of Greek Navy Cadets. Her teaching experience includes courses in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Optimal Control, Higher Mathematics, and software programming with MATLAB and Mathematica. Additionally, she has participated in research programs focused on the design, development, and implementation of mathematical algorithms.

Since joining ACS Athens in 2013, she has contributed significantly to the school community, serving as ECIS Ambassador and Co-Coordinator of the Professional Development Team. Her dedication was recognized with the University of Chicago’s Outstanding Educator Award. She has also participated and presented at numerous international conferences, including the ECIS Leadership Conferences.  She continues to serve as an IB Examiner.

In the upcoming academic year, Dr. Stamati will be teaching IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches at both the Higher Level Year 1 and the Standard Level Year 2. She is also stepping into the role of Math Assessment Coordinator for K-12.

She firmly believes in the motto: "The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics." - Paul Halmos.
