Karatza, Zoi, Kindergarten

Ms. Zoe Karatza is a dedicated and experienced educator with a passion for early childhood education. She holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and an M.A. in Information and Communication Technology in Education from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, along with additional coursework in Psychology from the Italian University of Padova.

Throughout her career, Ms. Karatza has excelled in various roles. As an Early Childhood teacher and Coordinator of Early Childhood Programs at a STEM learning center, she developed cutting-edge curriculum, trained educators, and ignited a passion for learning in her students. Her tenure at ACS Athens saw her wearing many hats, from assisting the Optimal Learning Program (OLP) across grade levels to serving as a Permanent Substitute Teacher and Learning Support Specialist. Through these experiences, Ms. Karatza honed her skills in differentiated instruction, and creating inclusive learning environments. For the past five years, Ms. Karatza, as the Elementary School Instructional Technology Teacher, has been guiding students to be conscious citizens while empowering them to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. Her action research on Promoting Social and Emotional Learning through Digital Citizenship lessons has garnered attention for its innovative approach to fostering digital literacy and emotional intelligence (ECIS Inclusive Education Conference 2023).

A dedicated researcher and presenter, Ms. Karatza has contributed significantly to the field of education. Her research on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a Tool of Differentiated Instruction (7th International Conference on Education and Management Innovation) and the effects of Artificial Intelligence on students' learning outcomes (5th International Conference on Future of Teaching and Education) has been showcased at international conferences and published in esteemed journals. In addition to her academic achievements, Ms. Karatza holds the International Teaching Certificate from TES Institute and has been recognized as a CommonSense educator for creating a positive culture of learning and inspiring young kids.

As a lifelong learner, Ms. Karatza has also pursued extensive professional development, completing courses such as Supporting Children with Difficulties in Reading and Writing (UCL Institute of Education, Dyslexia International), Conceptual Math Training for Grades K-2, and Educational and Psychological Measurements in Special Education (George Washington University).

Ms. Karatza is deeply excited to embark on this new journey, knowing that kindergarten is where her heart truly lies. Her approach to teaching kindergarten is marked by creativity, commitment, and a genuine love for her students' growth and well-being at this crucial developmental stage. Ms. Karatza is dedicated to creating a positive, engaging learning environment where every child feels valued, inspired, and equipped with the skills to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
