Chen, Hsuen-Chin, Faculty, Chinese, World Language Coordinator

Dr. Chen was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory and Biotechnology from Chung Shan Medical University in 1998. She later pursued advanced studies at National Taiwan University, earning both her M.A. and Ph.D. in Immunology in 2007. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Chen mentored both Master’s and Ph.D. candidates, guiding them in experimental techniques, grant writing, and academic thesis composition in both Chinese and English.

Following her academic career, Dr. Chen served as a European representative for a Taiwanese pharmaceutical company and gained extensive experience as a professional Chinese-English translator. However, she soon discovered that her true passion lay in education. Dr. Chen is committed to not only fostering academic excellence but also nurturing the personal growth of her students. Her dedication to teaching is evident in her years of experience as a qualified Chinese language educator, having taught both children and adults in Athens, Greece.

Since joining ACS Athens in 2018, Dr. Chen has been teaching Chinese Language and Literature in both Middle School and High School. In her capacity as the World Language Coordinator, she leads initiatives to enhance language instruction across multiple languages, ensuring a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. Additionally, Dr. Chen serves as the advisor for the Chinese-Greek Intercultural Club, promoting student engagement in a multicultural setting and fostering global citizenship.
