Testimonials
I found the onboarding process to be really helpful. I am grateful for the entire experience because it led to my first friendships here in Greece. These friendships supported my transition. My first impressions of this school are that it is exactly as advertised - a community of kind, international people who care about teaching, learning and children's social and emotional development.
Nicholas Stanford, Elementary Music Teacher
I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude. You were all incredibly helpful, supportive, and caring throughout the entire process. The prompt responses and teamwork made navigating both life and work, both before and after my arrival in Greece, much easier. I always felt reassured and in good hands."
Gavin Santacross, Academy Guidance Specialist
I feel THANKFUL for being part of such a supporting and positive community!
Demi Caparos, Kindergarten Teacher
There are high expectations and levels of achievement, but there are an abundant amount of resources and people willing to help.
Dr. Natalie Mitchell, Academy Science Teacher
Coming to ACS Athens was an exciting, but also stressful opportunity. I didn't know what to expect or whether I would be able to cope with the demands of the role. After my training was completed, my colleagues and mentor were so supportive that I forgot what I was stressed about... The transition was so smooth it felt as if I have been working at this school for years! Most importantly, the emotional and mental support from my colleagues made me feel that I am really working in a safe environment.
Panagiotis Litsas, M.Sc., Academy P.E. Faculty
As a new member of the American School Community, the Mentoring Colleagues Program proved to be really helpful and beneficial for me. It gave me the opportunity to gain practical, applicable advice and created a bond (between me and my mentor) that eased my professional networking and personal growth. I also got the one-to-one attention that helped me better understand the mentality and the policies of the school and retain all the practical information. Last but not least, this mentoring creates the feeling of security which is so vital for a new member of a community.
