Tennis Academy Coordinator & Head Coach specialized in High-Performance Athlete Development
Mr. Schoenefeld was born in Dusseldorf / Germany. He attended the DTB/VDT tennis trainer education for four years and has received three of the highest Tennis training diplomas with different specializations during this time, which are all recognized by the ITF.
His specializations range from ” mainstream club tennis" up to "training and Micro, Meso, Makro training/ tournament planning" and the training of sport psychological components of and for professional tennis players. (“High Performance Athlete Development” and guidance of professional tennis players)
In addition, he has attended various seminars as "Optimal Biomechanical Movement Structures in the tennis sport ", "Sport psychological aspects and their importance in professional Tennis"; “Enhancing the Zone performance of professional athletes”; also he has completed an emergency first response course that follows current guidelines for emergency patient care, and many more.
Mr Schoenefeld attended the World Tennis Coach Conference Seminar in 2024 (certified)
He has been at ACS Athens for the past 19 years and manages the ACS Athens Tennis Academy as its coordinator and Head coach.
Tennis Coach specialized in High-Performance & Young Athlete Development
Mr. Ioannis Vaxevanakis was born in Thessaloniki and grew up in Athens Greece. He studied Sport Science with a specialization in Tennis (Department of Physical Education and Sport Science (2005).
From 1993 till to date he participates in national union and Panhellenic tournaments. He has been teaching Tennis since 2006 in several tennis clubs in Athens and as of September 2017 has joined the ACS Athens Tennis Academy coaching team.
Mr Vaxevanakis attended the World Tennis Coach Conference Seminar in 2024 (certified).
Mr Vaxevanakis is responsible for the practical implementation of the “High Performance and Athlete Development Program”. Also, he has completed an emergency first response course that follows current guidelines for emergency patient care.
Tennis Coach
Mr. Giakoumis was born and raised in Athens, Greece. He studied Physical Education and Sports Science at the University of Athens, with a specialization in Tennis. He joined ACS Athens in 2024 as part of the tennis coaching team.
Mr. Giakoumis specializes in “Main Stream Club tennis”, Mini tennis and Young Athlete Recruitment. He is also involved in the Tennis Academy's “Athlete Development Program”. In addition, he is responsible for the tennis academy’s “Mini Tennis Program”. He has completed an emergency first response course that follows current guidelines for emergency patient care.
Tennis Coach specialized in High-Performance & Young Athlete Development
Ms. Kallistrou was born and raised in Patras, Greece. She studied Physical Education and Sports Science at the University of Athens, where earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 2024 specializing in Tennis.
She played professionally in her past and was ranked at the age of 16 Nr 3 in Greece. She also achieved a ranking of 67 in Tennis Europe and 340 in the ITF Juniors. Additionally, she was a member of the national team at the ages of 12 and 16.
She worked as a tennis coach in Greece helping young athletes reach their highest level and joined ACS Athens in 2024 as a part of the tennis coaching team.
Ms. Kallistrou is responsible for the theoretical components and documentation of the “Athlete Development and High-Performance Program”. She is heavily involved in both programs and works with the athletes of these programs on a daily basis.
Tennis Coach
Mr. Chris Kourtis was born and raised in Athens, Greece. He studied Physical Education and Sports Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where earned his Bachelor's Degree in 2003, specializing in Tennis. In 2018, Mr. Kourtis was recognized by Stanford University for exceptional teaching for his dedication as an educator and a mentor.
He has been actively involved in teaching Physical Education at ACS Athens since 2009, spanning all three school levels. Currently, he is teaching High School Physical Education. During the 2020 and 2021 lockdowns, Mr. Kourtis participated in the "Home Base PE Summit," where he engaged in over 20 webinars with physical education professionals from around the world. In 2024, as part of his ongoing professional development, Mr. Kourtis attended the 4th World Tennis Conference hosted by the GPTCA/Segal Institute and supported by the ATP. Mr. Kourtis is a member of the American Coaching Academy, where he is actively engaging in professional development and accessing valuable resources. Besides his teaching background, Mr. Kourtis, is a certified lifeguard, a (Level D) wall climbing operator/supervisor and has successfully completed the Emergency First Response Course that follows current guidelines for emergency patient care. Mr. Chris Kourtis has been coaching tennis since 2001 and joined the ACS Athens Tennis Academy coaching team in 2007. He also serves as the coach of the ACS Athens Middle School Tennis team.
Mr. Kourtis' teaching philosophy centers on empowering students through positive reinforcement and a Growth Mindset, guiding them to achieve their personal goals and demonstrate continuous growth. His approach is grounded in mutual respect and an appreciation for individual differences and skill sets. He firmly believes that with teamwork and cooperation, every student can thrive in Physical Education.

Swimming Coach specialized in Athlete Development
Ms.Natasha-Natalia Antoniou was born in New York, USA and raised in Athens, Greece. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Sports Science from the International and Kapodistrian University of Athens specializing in Swimming and Waterpolo. She has a coaching license by the general secretariat of sports and she is a certified lifeguard (CPR, first aid for infant, child, adult). Moreover, she has a baby swimming certificate and has also been a physical educator for kids with special needs.
Ms. Antoniou has been a swimmer since the age of three; some years later she joined water polo and had been a member of the junior national team of Greece. Ms. Antoniou has worked as a coach for ten years at the club team Okeanos where she was also an academy supervisor. For the past two years she is a coach for the club of Panathinaikos (at the Olympic stadium). With both teams, Ms. Antoniou has participated in various competitions with her athletes all over Greece. Ms. Antoniou has been working at ACS Athens for the past three years during summer camp. As of this year she will also be coaching in the after school Swimming Academy.
She is responsible for the planning and implementation of tennis sport supportive swim plans for Young and High Performance tennis Athletes.
